Hurricanes Activate Cole After Four-Game Absence

ESPN - Erik Cole is set to rejoin the Carolina Hurricanes after missing four games with a neck injury.

The Hurricanes are activating the 29-year-old winger from injured reserve and assigning Ryan Bayda to AHL Albany.

Cole was taken from the ice on a stretcher after colliding with Florida Panthers' goalie Tomas Vokoun on Nov. 12.

The veteran of six NHL seasons is less than two years removed from a serious neck injury. Cole fractured a vertebra on March 2006, when he was hit from behind by Pittsburgh's Brooks Orpik. [READ]
