Blue Jackets Assign Mason To OHL London Knights

RealGM Staff Report - The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned goaltender Steve Mason to the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League, club General Manager Scott Howson announced today.

Mason, 19, was the Blue Jackets’ second pick, 69th overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. He appeared in three preseason games with the club during training camp, posting a 1-2-0 record with a 1.78 goals-against average and .913 save percentage. He did not play in either of Columbus’s first two regular season games.

The Oakville, Ontario native was the OHL’s Goaltender of the Year in 2006-07 after compiling a 45-13-4 record, 3.20 goals-against average, .914 save percentage and two shutouts in 62 games with the Knights. He also represented Canada at the 2007 Canada-Russia Super Series. In 74 career OHL games, Mason is 50-16-4 with a 3.13 goals-against average, .916 save percentage and two shutouts. [READ]
